'On the Street'

Long before Ukraine's current troubles with Russia and even before Putin became the

strong current Russian President, this Russian-speaking Ukrainian woman sat on a

sidewalk in Odessa, a sprawling and relatively modern port city on the Black Sea in

Ukraine and read a book, dressed, as Russian and Ukrainian woman often do, in her

better clothes. Your ratings, critiques and observations are invited and most

Periodically I review old captures with my new knowledge from reviewing other photographers, periodicals and new knowledge I've obtained.

Some how this one just escaped me at the time; I never even noticed it, yet in it's own way, it seems, especially in its color version with its 'color coordination' to be almost perfect.

On review, this one just 'jumped out at me', and I wondered  'how did I miss this one' but at the same time, it's quite different from my later works (see below), though ostensibly it is a 'later work'.

 I wonder if I could take the same photo today, ten years later, in this, my latest incarnation as a photographer (my most 'modern' period and my most productive).  I keep learning and changing somewhat, but the essence of my early style remains throughout along with new and interesting stuff with new lenses, new cameras capable of higher ISO captures, etc.

This harkens back to my very early days in the late '60s, I think -- walking the streets of NYC when I first picked up a camera, but not then yet shooting color (I started color the next year for 'stock photo).
