Winter preparation!

Winter is at the door and in this area,firewood is still a prime fuel

for heating.Here,the logs are being cut to length using a tractor

attached saw.....the old-fashion method.Thank you for your comment-Laurent

I am taken by the strength and determination of people that stand super cold winters year after year! I have never lived in the snow and I can not image been that cold for month at a time. Great emotional image for me! Warm winter my friend.

Thank you for viewing....and for feeling for those whom have to struggle through our hard winters.For some whom have woodlots,the effort is to go out and cut whatever they need for the season.For others,less fortunate,they have to buy the firewood and stack enough to last these long winters where heating starts in late September and goes through until early May.Firewood used to be cheap compared to oil or electricity,but supply and demand,high in this area has pushed the price of wood way up with the result that the less fortunate are always faced with the dilemma of choosing between food or wood especially at the end of a hard winter where the consumption of wood has drained their stock before the arrival of the warmer temperatures.....And life goes on!
