thadley 15 Posted September 26, 2014 There is lots of sadness in that face - perhaps one that recognizes that the end could be near! From a technical perspective you nailed it on the head (pun intended) as far as the face is concerned. The clothing material is overexposed and is not a big deal but should you want to avoid that, you could fill flash with reduced power if you felt that the face was going to be too dark if you metered for the clothing. Just a few thoughts! Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted September 26, 2014 Thank you for viewing and for the kind appreciation. This is a shot seized at mid-day explaining the strong light on the headgear and the forehead.Most/all of the images I have of these people are not posed but candid shots taken as our paths crossed and most took but a few seconds;out of respect,I always refrained from using the flash at close range in the face of often aged persons as in this case.If digital had been available at that time,a second or more shots would have been easy to get after showing the results on the screen.I must also point out that when I seized these shots, there was never a thought of ever making these avaiable for public viewing even though I looked at the work of Steve McCurry to see how I could improve. This and all my Indonesia and Peru shots are scans off prints and eventually,I hope to go through the stack of negatives I have in waiting to see if better quality images can be produced.Meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
