'Mirroring' is the compositional device and 'raunch' is the theme of this photo taken

at the Adult Video News Convention six or so years ago in Las Vegas where

explicit displays of nudity are actually forbidden and actually more female flesh can

be seen at almost any late stage show featuring rhinestone semi-nude chorus girls

and dancers at any of the famous Las Vegas casinos whereas this so-called 'porn'

event really only 'suggested' explicitness - being more 'tease' and titillation' than the

real thing. The latter is featured in this photo of a customer getting a photo from his

friends, possibly one that he may not be so happy to see resurrected now, six or so

years later ;~))) Your ratings, critiques and observations are invited and most

welcome. If you rate harshly, very critically or wish to make a remark, please

submit a helpful and constructive comment; please share your photographic

knowledge to help improve my photography. Thanks! Enjoy! john (please see

note to Administration, below). jc

I have no wish to 'test bounds'.

This is part of a series of photos taken at various yearly events of the AVN (Porn) convention held annually at Las Vegas, this one at the Sands Convention Center.

Previous Administrations have never voiced a concern over posting of similar or more explicit photos and of far worse taste, and this photo was posted to illustrate exactly that -- vulgarity.

However, if there is an objection, please contact me, or remove and contact me, as I do not wish to test bounds or create a cause celebre.

I am a serious photographer with serious viewpoints about my subjects, as a fair view of my large portfolio I think will show, and I have read and reviewed the guidelines before and find this photo well within the guidelines.

Respectfully,

If you feel this photo is 'utterly tasteless' (no pun or near-pun intended), you are almost certainly correct.

Raunchiness certainly is a theme of this photo and there is almost no argument to be made that this photo is in 'good taste', but at the same time it's not pornographic in its strict interpretation, however distasteful some may find it.

Many may find it 'just plain fun' as this guy; others may turn their noses up at it -- and I suspect that some who view it may express one opinion privately and another to others depending in part on the nature of their audience -- one view for the raunchy audience and another for the prim audience . . . . and more permutations.

As such, audience reactions may be sort of a Rorschach test and that may be variable depending on a variety of factors and even with one individual expressing multiple or at least more than one opinion, if I know human nature (and I think I do for some people, certainly not all).

However sex has an important place to play; it's what makes little ones come from the big 'uns, whatever your view, and for the act to take place at least until test tubes and turkey basters came about the man had to be aroused, and certainly these women are well schooled in that, according to this subject's face as I read it.

Photographically, this photo is posted as an example of 'mirroring' -- if you can't figure out why, think on the issue real hard, and if you're stuck on it, let me know.  After several days if the comments don't reveal the answer, I'll try to enlighten.  Or you can e-mail me; my e-mail's on my bio page.
