Christal,

That anonymous commentary above was actually from me. For some reason all my comments are being posted anonymously unless I actually uncheck the box. I'll have to look into that!

Good to hear from you, and thanks for the nice remarks!  Yeah, I was going to answer and tell the person they had posted anonymously.....now I don't have to!  :-)  Looking forward to getting over to see your images.  I've been gone from PN for 4-5 months while attending Rocky Mountain School of Photography out in Montana.  I took a Sabbatical and have just now returned to work. But actually my heart is taking me more toward photography as I approach retirement.  Hope all is well with you!

Nicely handled.  Beautiful grays.  It would befit the cover of a bodice-ripper.  The bride is definitely the star here--the poor groom playing a supporting role.

A full range of B&W tones and a beautiful, romantic scene! Bravo Christal!

I thought you had left the PN community for good, glad I was wrong!

Cheers

Good to hear from 2 of my old friends here on PN.  Yes, I've been gone for awhile.  I took a 1-year Sabbatical to 'catch up with my life' and attend photo school for 3 months this summer.....an intensive that kept me busy 9-12 hours each day!   We also traveled for a couple of months.  I have a lot of catching up to do after being gone for 5 months, but I'll eventually work my way back in to this community.  Thanks!  And I'm looking forward to visiting your sites to see what you've been up to!

I saw this image a few days ago and I found it really striking and I was convinced I had already commented on it (must be an age thing)  : - )

I really like the way the veil not only softens the image and in doing adding a more romantic atmosphere, but it also frames the couples faces beautifully.  It doesn't look too premeditated or staged either (although of course it might be) I think it looks very natural which adds to it's charm.

Very well done Christal!

Best Regards

Christal - I have enjoyed this image because it clearly speaks of love, tenderness and caring. I think it is an excellent image and it carries the full tonal range with lots of clarity and details in her dress. Congrats. I don't rate many images these days with a seven but I am going that way with this one.  At one point I was going to rate 6 for the following reasons but thought afterwards that I would go with a seven:

I would have delicately burned in her shoulder area just a tad as long as the original contains the details. If not, leave 'as is' because burning in where highlights have been lost is not aesthetically pleasing.

I would given a little more room over his head since if you ever wanted to print and place a matte, it would chop into his head. However, I have seen successful 'portraits' where part of the head has been 'cut and that could work here also.

All the very best,
