frigo 4,155 Posted September 23, 2014 During my time working overseas,I often returned to places/villages near work and always brought prints for people whom had generously allowed to be taken in photo and this always created great joy and also led to more photos. This elderly gentleman I met on his return from Friday prayers, had his best attire and his prayer mat wrapped around his head as was very common in this area. When I returned to this village some time later, photo in hand,I was to told that the man had died;I was led to his house and handed this and another shot to his family whom was most happy as they did not have other photos of their departed head of family. However sad this was,it really felt good. frigo 4,155 Posted September 23, 2014 Thank you kindly. These people images, aside from being good souvenirs for the taker, all carry their own little story, most of them happy and however sad this one is,it had a positive aspect in that it provided the family with a lasting reminder of this gentle man.Meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment

frigo 4,155 Posted September 26, 2014 Thank you for looking in and for the kind observation. We,whom dispose of cameras and other devices to produce images sometimes cannot imagine what a single photo may represent for those less fortunate. In my relatively small experience working abroad,I have met people whom questioned what I was doing when pointing that thing(camera) at them,so you can visualize their amazement when I could return with a print;I wish digital had been available back then to show the results instantaneously.Goes to show the power of an image as you note.Meilleures salutations-Laurent Link to comment
