I just got back from a parks tour. This photo was taken from Apgar Mountain lookout

within Glacier Park, and looking down at Lake McDonald. I left my big, heavy, and

white Canon lenses at home and brought Tamron's lightweight 28-300mm, which I

used for this photo. Thank you for your constructive criticism. Aloha!

Great perspective, what a brilliant view! Looks like you made a good choice with the lens too.  Love the gradual change from warm to cool tones

Very well done!

Dominick,

While this is certainly a beautiful scene, composed wonderfully, I can't help but feel you would have had even better results with your canon lens. I have the Tamron as well, and in side by side comparisons, there is always greater clarity and color rendition with the canon. Also, the f36  ( if I remember correctly) probably wasn't necessary to get the dof you needed and needlessly cut down on the sharpness you could have gotten. Then again, maybe it wasn't worth lugging those things up the hill- totally understand!!

Gregory, thanks for commenting.   There certainly is a trade off when trying to lose weight carrying camera equipment.  This hike was a steady climb over 3.6 miles, but well worth it. If done again, I would use my 70-200L lens, which I am more familiar with.

This image is unsharpened.  I have a near full size image posted on 500px and it looks better, with the colors more true.  Aloha!

Fabulous. In 2009 I was at Waterton Park in Alberta and this location was literally just around the corner but I had to head back to Montreal due to time constraints.
