Out this evening with the camera. This is a lookout point overlooking

the Mississippi River as it goes through St. Paul. As I was walking

back to my car, this couple stopped to take a picture of the clouds,

adding a nice touch to my photo.

I don't know if you use PS at all but if you do perhaps the couple should be brightened just a bit to bring them out and perhaps the bush in the foreground. The cloud formation is great and you've captured it very well.

Thanks for your comments, Jack.  Its probably just a matter of taste here.  I had lightened the people and foreground a bit, but I didn't want them to compete with the clouds, but to just frame them.  BTW, I just installed the latest PSCC 2014 version (I have the monthly subscription) and its just great.  I highly recommend it.  The raw controls are amazing.

I like both versions - probably prefer the more contrasty version a bit more. These are impressive clouds. In my opinion, the foreground is a bit too cluttered. The bench in the corner, the cut off flowers in the foreground... I think I would have preferred a position closer to the couple to simplify things a little bit and place more emphasis on the golden reflections on the railing and the orange lamps. But then, the couple might have moved on...

Of course, the real question on my mind: was the thunderstorm as dramatic as the clouds suggest?

Thanks for your thoughts, Chris.  Yes, the clouds were quite dramatic: very orange, with lightening flashing inside, which I did not capture.  I had to step back enough to get the clouds in the frame, which unfortunately got the foreground stuff as well.  I could clone/crop out the bench in the left corner.
