kslonaker 0 Posted September 28, 2003 I like the way you have the rocks at the bottom and along the left side, framing the image. Nice lighting and color. The water looks a tad too bright and lacking in detail, but that's minor to me. I'd hang this on my wall. Link to comment
vincetylor 0 Posted September 28, 2003 I am not a mate-rater, and really do not hand out that many 7s. This simply deserves another one for aesthetics. 7...There! It is a VERY beautiful image in my opinion. Indeed many, many things in this keep my attention throughout the scene. My only suggestion would be to try posting one image every few days or so....that way people can get to really enjoy. Keep up the great work Dave. Link to comment
carol_watson 0 Posted September 28, 2003 The placement of all of the elements in the composition is lovely. You've represented the beauty of this location very well! Link to comment
rajeevthomas 1 Posted September 28, 2003 This is just beyond any words...just so beautiful....perrrrrrrrrfect!!!! You are a great photographer!!! Link to comment
jean deaux 0 Posted September 28, 2003 I like the effect, but I think a one-stop ND grad filter would've appeared more natural. Link to comment
atle.g 0 Posted September 28, 2003 A one stop would appear more normal, but the muted sky works well here, highlighting the nice foreground. And togheter with a fine composition this becomse a lovely landscape photo. Well done! Link to comment
randy_january 0 Posted September 29, 2003 You've been like a machine lately Dave. One great shot after another. It's like your nailing every beautiful spot before that harsh winter comes. I hope you'll brave the cold and bring us a few then as well. Link to comment
babs1 0 Posted September 29, 2003 Even I think a 1 stop ND filter would have been better. The area where the grasslands merge into the mountains seem to have lost details as it got a bit too dark over there. But that does not take away all the deserving credit for the composition. Good work! Link to comment
alice harrison 0 Posted September 30, 2003 I AGREE, DAVE, BEAUTIFUL. LOOKS LIKE A PAINTING THAT I WOULD DEFINITELY HANG ON MY WALL. 7/7. YOUR TURNING OUT TO BE QUITE THE ARTIST. Link to comment
roberto4 0 Posted September 30, 2003 not only the composition is very good but also I like the dark colors!! Link to comment
ron_van_elst1 0 Posted September 30, 2003 If we look at the composition of this photo I say: Bravo! But there's too much dodging and burning goin' on which makes this shot look unnatural and 'forced'. Next time try to balance it more evenly and receive full credit. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted September 30, 2003 All those comments about the ND stops.......bet you wish you hadn't kept that in the data field. I like the eye that led you to capture the wrap around rocks. I am surprised it isn't sharper given the LLLLlens. I think you did well - as an aside, I often follow your "highest rated" images to find some of the crema on this broth. You have a great eye - probably the best (and only) compliment I hand out on PN. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted September 30, 2003 Dave, as I was so open let me just add my sixpence : the midtones would do well to pop - I'm sure that can be arranged. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted September 30, 2003 While this is a beautiful image, when closely considered, it does have an artificial feel to it. I'm not sure whether it's the ND filter (probably not) or that you've done a lot of dodging. Some of th dodging at the base of the mountains has gone too far, really washing out areas that should be much darker. You might think about having another go at this and dodging it a little less. Still, I like the overall composition and colors. Link to comment
jon_dicks 0 Posted September 30, 2003 Great shot. The colours really make the landscape come alive for me. Link to comment
