Dead blackbird, female... was found under the window. In close

examination it had a "loose neck" so it had flown against the window:(

One small flame extinguished . . .

 

I must be getting old and sentimental - since each needless death saddens me so.  Nature by itself is harsh and unforgiving, but we only worsen things it seems.
