At first, the thumbnail captured my attention because of the interesting lighting, which I believe is very good. The subject and the book are also very captivating and well conceived. The BW presentation certainly makes this a very attractive photograph. All said, the only thing that, in my humble opinion takes much away from the overall good composition are the two bright "white dots" on the subject lips. I know it may be some kind of piercing, but nonetheless, photographically, these "spots" should not be there....they take too much of the eye's focus (bright spots are a natural magnet for the eye).
