A most interesting scene, well captured.  I wonder whether this man's age is greater than that of the tires.

Did you consider a B&W conversion?  It seems ripe.

My best,

This is a superb portrait both in terms of subject matter and the way it is shot. Placing the man against the darkness of the garage, resting a bit uncomfortably on the tires and with that swath of white wall to his right is the perfect composition. The color pallet is limited mostly to various shades of green, white, blue and beige, that remain subtle and unobtrusive, complimenting and supporting the main subject .The predominant green is echoed in the lighter green of the the man's cap, bringing us right to the central figure, It's a visually strong, self-assured picture but one that seems perfectly natural and not at all forced, arty or manipulative; it's one of the best genre portraits I've seen on photonet.

A different subject from you and very interesting indeed.Agree Jack comment that all elements here fit so well and shows life as it is.

Thank you kindly. The gentleman told me he was 82,knew of my grandfather whom lived nearby, patiently posed for a few shots and then just got up and walked away. These tires,as the other lot  residing inside this garage(see photo at right) were pretty old but the owner somehow beleived there would eventually be a taker for them.I did crank up a B/W one of these(click left arrow). What do you think?

Thank you for the kind appreciation.I usually go by this place on weekends and I assumed the old garage was abandoned, but when I drove by this weekday,I was surpised to see the door opened and the owner having a chat with this gentlemen comfortably(?) set on the tires.I stopped and asked if I could take am photo;the gentleman got up and started to walk away so I could get a clear shot of the garage.I told him it would be better if he were in the picture and he agreed.I exchanged with them and found he would be 82 and knew of my grandfather whom lived nearby....which led to a few more shots. He shook my hand,I thanked him for the shots and he just walked away.My favorite type of image taking!

Thank you my friend. As I noted to Jack above, this is by far the most challenging but also the most satisfying (for me) type of image taking. There were many opportunities like this when I was living abroad, but here it is more difficult but still as satisfying.

Salutations-Laurent
