Large view is necessary to achieve proper color and detail. This lake, lago

coldenado, is part of the Peruvian jungle experience, Refugio Amazonas.

Refugio is accessed from Puerto Moldenado along with a four hour boat

ride on the Tombopata River. The image was shot handheld from a long

canoe-like boat. Your comments and critques are valued as always. Larry

A wonderful green scene that has been composed and captured very well.

I was about to recommend a lower ISO and use a tripod - advice that is not meaningful in a canoe.

To your question on one of images - Yup - it is one of my granddaughters.

Love the sharp sleek shape of the boats against the natural jungle vegetation. It looks hot and sticky and I'm almost slapping my neck from imaginary mosquito's landing on it looking at this image : - )

Very well done!

Hi Larry-Relaxing & studying your images again. Am particularly impressed with your treatment of greens in your images. This one & your Cypress lake image just emit a feeling of quietness & peacefulness, your greens are absolutely beautiful..It is a pleasure to sit back & enjoy them. On a different subject when you mentioned getting together I thought you were thousands of miles away but then realized Minnesota is south of Lake Superior, (I think) which is a different kettle of fish.Am sure in the future we can come together. Best Regards Ross

Ross,  I am honored by the time you put into looking at these images.  This image was taken from a moving large canoe.  I was impressed with the reflections and deepness of the jungle.  Truth be told, I was enjoying the chance to sit and photograph, dreading the long hike back through the jungle, some of which was after dark.  Yes, Minnesota borders Lake Superior.  Minnesota is on the north shore of Lake Superior roughly 1000-1100 miles from Toronto.  Minneapolis is 150 miles south of Lake Superior at Duluth and 300 miles from the Canadian border at Grand Portage, MN. For me, driving from where you live would be a 2 day drive, but only a 1 1/2 hour flight from Toronto.   Driving the northern route is more desolate  and more scenic.  Thanks again.  It would be great to meet you.  Larry
