If you get any closer to this dove, you'll have to buy her dinner ;-).  Well done, an excellent portrait.... Mike

Not as close as one might think.  I slowly closed to about 10' to get this one & her partner sitting on my backyard fence.  When I got inside their comfort zone they were gone.  No apologies!  Heavy crop helps.  Thank goodness for excessive megapixels.  Good to get your take on this one.  Best, LM.

This composition is a heavy crop of the original frame.  The sharpness, though still a far cry from Nikon's best lenses, speaks to the quality of the kit lens, 55-200mm.  It satisfies my needs, for the present anyway.  Thanks for your interest.  Best, LM.

These birds have more colours & shades than is obvious at first glance.  I don't think I've ever noticed the blue around the eye or the red in the beak until I started to blow up the image.  Thanks for your thoughts.  Best,  LM.

I didn't have to go far to get this shot.  Two doves were sitting on my backyard fence & I simply kept shooting while approaching them until I got within their comfort zone.  Thanks for your thoughts.  Best, LM.

Len this is a wonderful close-up and the clear details and colors the same. Well composed with blurred bg and I'd say the image is perfect.

Thanks for your positive review.  Coming from a photographer who not only talks the talk but apparently walks the walk I do appreciate it.  From a quick cruise through your bird portfolio it appears that I can expect to learn a few things from you on the matter of bird photography.  Very impressive!  Be over to see you soon.  Best, LM.
