Thanks for viewing/comments! the 1.5 cropped sensor @24mp and 11fps

sure help getting this image since the bird is far away and move often.

Tought to shoot manual focus and I have to use my tripod & gimbal head.

Excellent shot.  I'm fascinated with your switch to Sony, if you don't mind sharing, what were your reasons? ... Mike

Thanks Mr Mancil! I am not switching, I am still a Canon man :-) (been using Canon almost 40 years). I bought the Sony A7R (used, for a song) to replace my Canon 5D II since it got more pixel 36mp verse 21mp and no low-pass filter give the image from Sony much more sharpness.  Mainly I want to cut down the weight when I travel since I can barely shoot bird with the 5D II anyway. Then, I started shooting perching bird with the A7R and it came out great .... so, I bought the A7 since all the reviews keep telling me it's focus faster. But, that only means if you shoot with Sony lenses but not when you go through the adapter (that's another later story).  I then realize that when the bird perch and start flying I can not get them well with the 4fps & 5fps of the A7R & A7.  So, I thought I try the A6000 since it can shoot 11fps for a very cheap price of $649 new (bought my used to cut cost in case I need to sell as well).

I am going to sell the A7 since I like the A7R much more and there's no need to have that camera. I am keeping the A6000 for now and may buy a couple Sony lenses like the 24-70mm &  FE 70-200mm for traveling.

Since my main interest is Bird In Flight (BIF) there's no way out but to still shoot with Canon and I will have to get something like the 1DX or rumored to come 7D II (or a 1D Mark IV)  since my 1D Mark III at 10mp is not working out when I crop too much and I do crop a lot with birdshooting.

Last, everywhere I read the Metabones (I had the Metabone IV) is a must but I've found that fir the price ($400) I can get a similar adapter to mount my EF lens to the Sony E mount for only 1/4 the price, btw. May be some other camera or application it might make a different but with my Canon lenses it does not seem to make any different to shoot with the Commlite adapter (I now own two of them since I will keep the A7R & A6000).

May be the bottom line is that I am on a mega pixel quest since I was so deprived of pixel with 10mp of the 1D Mark III  :-)

This is good but I have to admit I like the other shot better ... as Line says that shot has a Chinese painting look to it and adds to the uniqueness.  Of course, the 'puff up' (I am not a birder) of the head feathers really adds to that shot as well.

Thanks J! I received the camera the night before and never check to see what format the output image would be. This image was taken in JPG mode and it would have been a lot better if I had taken it in RAW since there's not much adjustment that can be done with JPG . :-)
