Mark:  Nice environmental photo.  I don't think you need all that space on the right.  Cropping the right third would focus the eye on your beautiful model.  I'd also like to see this photo in color.  It seems like a good candidate considering blues and flesh tones.  Alan.

Alan - Thank you for the comment. As with the images from another beach session I recently posted, I feel the space is necessary to place her in the location. Too tight a crop would make this another photograph of a very pretty woman who happens to be nude.

I did explore many of these photographs in color. Hanna, who happens to be a terrific photographer herself, correctly pointed out that B&W might be better. In this case I did the conversion through a "red filter" greatly darkening the blue sky adding a strong sense of drama.

I find the photo absolutely perfect from every perspective, a truly beautiful shot, bravo.

I am fascinated by your mention of a red filter that I haven't used since the days of film and I certainly love the effect here.  I have no idea how to access that and really must look into it  ..

John - Thank you for the comment. I use Aperture to do my processing. Under "Effects; Black & White" there are choices for base contrast and "Filters" such as Red, Orange, etc.

I like the composition; The way the white water of the wave starts the bottom corner, leads the eye though the photo. I like that the horizon is straight. Beautiful pose as well.

If I was to be picky as hell the white of the wave off her right shoulder. For some reason I don't understand, my eye keeps go there. I would clone that to black. But like I said that's just looking hard to find something I don't like.

Did you actually put a red filter in front of the lens or did you just set "red filter" in the camera´s preferences?

All the best! -bjorn

David - Thank you for taking the time to study this image. I am pleased there is much that you like. I see your point about the white wave but will leave it as is.

Michael - Thanks.

Bjorn - Thank you for the comment and question. As I responded above to John, Aperture provides the ability to do the B&W conversion as if the photograph was made through a red filter. This is how I made this conversion.
