bronx 0 Posted August 1, 2014 John first off you do beautiful work, but this is a little off to me. The crop of the arm, and the whiteness of her up face doesn't look right to me. But is must be just me by looking at the ratings. I do love the pose. Best regards. Link to comment
John Peri 1,003 Posted August 1, 2014 Alberto, David, thank you for your visit .. Comment much appreciated David, thank you. I'm on laptop while away from home, so I will look at the whiteness you refer to when I get back. As for the arm cut off which I removed to make a stronger image, I sympathize with your remark and fully appreciate that you may find this a distraction. That said, I visit galleries, exhibitions and museums in which I frequently see photos shown with sloping horizons, crooked walls, missing ears and hairlines, which I do not believe have any impact on the result. This is something very personal (I have my dislikes too) but does not reflect in principle on what is right or wrong, there are no rules in photography as Ansel Adams wrote, only good photos. But then of course you may find an equally valid quotation which contradicts my view, and "vive la différence" .. : -). Best wishes, John Link to comment
