didereaux 1 Posted July 30, 2014 If the right 1/3 of the picture were cropped out I believe this picture would be closer to great. The rays of light emanating from the clouds are the key. Link to comment
David-Wisse 5 Posted July 30, 2014 Beautiful Hannu - wish I was there to see this. What lake is this? I assume in Finland, but reminds me so much of the Northern lakes here in Michigan.Best, David Link to comment
hansdans 0 Posted August 1, 2014 Mike - Thank you for the compliment!David - This is Finland indeed - mother Nature has these spectacles at times, which we can only try to improve...This is the case here in our location 60.282167, 24.376993 - as well. I used PS and Google's software in order to produce image still knowing that we can seldom improve the result in comparison to the local experience and setting. Hdr results with any software and techniques related are surely to produce something which is different and sometimes it becomes close to "Spielberg impressionism", which is simply overdoing it on all levels, not necessarily resulting something which is more beautiful.I have a feeling that this kind of photos are becoming majority in certain forums, if not all. At the same time I hope to learn and experiment with these things/techniques myself which new cameras/camerabacks with new software have made possible to all of us.I am glad to note that my "old" film time lenses are still the basis to all this development and so becoming even more useful in this learning process as time goes by:) best Hannu Link to comment
