A more intimate rendition of the water-etched textured sandstones at Lower

Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona. Can't decide whether to place this in

the "abstract" or "landscape" category as this was taken using 18mm full

frame with minimal cropping at lower and right border. Thank you for your

visit and your ratings/comments are welcome.

The photo stands out for me because it isn't over-saturated (as 99% of the images from Antelope Canyon(s) are), the colors chosen give it great depth, and the composition (to me) is flawless and merits the flowing adjective in the title. If I were pressed to nitpick I'd point at the dark area, upper left, but it's a minor nit. And it adds to the sweeping wave-like motion overall. I hope you've made a print of this and hung it for everyone to view. Fine work.

Great fresh take on a subject matter that has been beaten to death. Outstanding composition.

Best Regards,

Hum, abstract? Landscape? Neither, place in the Fine Art section.

Wonderfully done, the textures, the lighting and the composition are very well done, stunning work.

Could be many things in my point of view: landscape, fine art, abstract, close-up, etc, but the truth is that this place and the shot are very nice! Well done Lester! Best regards.

Most unique shot from this place, Lester! I've seen so many of it, but none like this one!

I love the flowing crossbeds in the sandstone. The bright oranges then put it over the top. beautiful composition and colors! Abstract or landscape - doesn't matter, thanks for sharing.

Very interesting and different composition.  It seems more open and and less confined than most other shots on the subject. Very nice. Regards. Jim

Pierre,

Tried to vary the perspective by rendering a closer image. Thanks for your feedback. Always nice to hear from you.

Jim.

I know it was such a difficult task to come up with something different from a scene photographed a million times. Glad you liked this one. Thanks.

J Montgomery,

I also perceived it as a 'wave' that had a flowing pattern or symmetry. Thanks for your observations.
