The light yellow Dart Swinger sported its ORIGINAL unblemished paint

while the rare notchback Vega showed off its fresh coat of black....an

odd but fine duo belonging to good friends.Thank you for your

I see a "454" badge on that Vega that I don't think was standard or optional factory equipment!

It is really amazing at what can be stuffed very nicely into some of these cars that came off the assembly line with 4 cylinder engines.

I have yet to review your entire series of this show because of "other obligations" but do hope I find the time to return for closer looks.

My last show car that I actually owned was a factory original 72 Plymouth Scamp Hardtop with the 318 C.I. which was very similiar to that Dodge Dart Swinger.

More recently I've helped build a few "modified class" like the Vega in your shot. A 65 Mustang Fastback and a 70 Mustang Convertible. Neither of which had much original equipment "underneath" but, both drove & handled like a new car with Independent Suspension, Rack & Pinion Power Steering, 4 wheel Disc Brakes and all the "good stuff!"

I've spent many a Saturday or Sunday sitting behind some of the Cars I've owned or helped build like those guys behind that Dart in your photograph. Brings back some very good memories that I've missed out on the last couple of years!

Cheers always,

Jim j.

I recognize the true car enthusiast in your comment.Sitting in the back and keeping a watchful eye is my younger brother(in white) and his buddy. My brother's Dart was peviously owned by that proverbial ''Old lady'' and is in pristine original condition....a bit of a feat considering the rust-easy reputation of Mopars of that era combined with the calcium saturated roadways in our long winters. It sports the original 6-cylinder engine which will soon step aside for the 340 c.i. being built to join the newly installed disk brakes etc.The Vega's original 4-cylinder mill has been replaced with a V-6 and that 454 badge I added in PP to show buddy what it might look like when his next move to a V-8 materializes,a far cry from the oil burning original aluminium-4(I owned one).Jim,I thank you for a most appreciated write;I hope you find the time to attend one of these shows soon-great fun.

Meilleures salutations-Laurent
