GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted July 17, 2014 While practicing my handholding a few weeks ago, I noticed one of our neighbors had brought out his treasured 'Little Deuce'. It is usually tucked away out of the elements. I decided it would be a welcome change from taking images of flowers. He did not mind me using his 'model'. His driveway was not optimum for taking images because so much reflected off the car, but I decided it was worth it just the same. I've never taken any images of cars before. I wish I had moved back just a 'tad' so that I had gotten the whole right tire in the image. I will be more careful next time. (any visits and comments are most welcome, with appreciation, Gail) Link to comment
Bill J Boyd 64,454 Posted July 17, 2014 Gail,Love the reflections you were able to capture. What a great image. Wonder how this would look in b/w? Just a thought.... Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted July 17, 2014 It's funny Bill, the whole time I was working on this image, I was thinking of that beautiful 'Classic Black Car' you have in your Portfolio. I have planned to do it in black and white. I was worried about the reflections of the Jeep and hedge, but they couldn't really be helped. Thank you for your positive comment and advice Bill. Jack McRitchie 150 Posted July 17, 2014 Funny to find your name on this photo because I didn't really associate it with your style at all. At least at first glance. On closer inspection it shows evidence of your fertile imagination in the way you have set up the shot. You have a real talent for surprising and interesting compositions. Anyway, nice to see you shooting again so I guess we can expect a stream of beauties from here on out. I've just started posting again after a couple weeks off with the flu and a case of the creative blahs. I feel my energies gathering again so that's good. We shall see. Link to comment
jill_bingham 0 Posted July 17, 2014 Gail I really like your composition. I think close up like this leaves you room to imagine. Great Work! Link to comment
jim_j2 9 Posted July 18, 2014 A little different than what I normally see from you! Refreshing though! And, I too agree with your POV on this Roadster. The next time you get the opportunity, . . . I"d bet your neighbor would place the Car about anywhere you wanted it for a photo op if asked. Most owners of these gems are quite accommodating to anyone offering to take photos of their "Pride & Joy's!" I too like the reflections (Jeep included) of that "Wishbone & Straight Axle" front end! Cheers always,Jim j. Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted August 3, 2014 Sorry to be so late in answering. I am sorry to hear you feel ill with the flu - that certainly is not pleasant and seems to drain the body of all energy, thus the mind is slow to respond as well. It often does take awhile to get the urge to do much of anything. I did enjoy working on the photos of the car and trying to find an interesting POV on most of the shots. Many thanks for your visit. I am healing well, still can be painful BUT nothing like when the injury was 'fresh'!!! I am thankful to be taking images at all. I was fortunate to have a good Dr. I hope to visit you and catch up on all your images, kind regards, Gail Link to comment

Pierre Dumas 258 Posted September 18, 2014 Hi, Gail! Thanks for your recent visit, I was very happy to hear from you! I suggest you to use polarizing filter, it reduces the reflections almost drastically! If you don't have one take in consideration that you don't have to pay about $50 or more, on the Chinese sites they cost about $10! Best regards and soon full recovery I wish you from the bottom of my heart! PDE Link to comment
