The Great Pee Dee River exits North Carolina into South Carolina onits way to the Atlantic Ocean just a few miles downstream from wherethis photo was made. This was shot hand-held from the new bridgelooking down onto the old. The river has been dammed to form LakeTillery at this point. Comments welcome.

The arched structure of the old bridge is beautiful. If I'm not over-stepping here, I would be tempted to crop this to a square and get rid of the new bridge entirely (aesthetically, anyway). I realize you may have been intending to document both bridges side by side. Just my thoughts.

I agree with you about the crops, Amy, but I did want to document this scene, as well as to show where I shot from.  From an esthetic point of view, there is yet another that is my favorite, and I will post it soon.
