This is excellent, like a futuristic line drawing. I really like the detail and precision. Really doesn't matter that I don't have the slightest idea what I'm looking at, it's just an enjoyable picture.

Arecibo has inspired many creative folks, including legendary shortwave pirate radio operator Alan Maxwell, whose KIPM radio broadcasts over a decade ago included "Arecibo Alpha 1", a riff on the Orson Welles War of the Worlds broadcast, with reports of UFOs being detected by the Arecibo Observatory. Against the foggy background the structure appears very much like a science fiction setting.
