Large view preferred. This image might also be classified as a

documentary because the journey and the impact of the railway on

the daily lives of people and the economy of the towns through which

the train goes may be more important than the image quality of the

photos. The train rolled by this spot less than a minute ago, and that

train track has been converted to market chaos in Juliaca, a sizable

town of over 100,000 - at an elevation of 12,500 feet - about an hour

drive from Puno. It was tough, if not impossible to concentrate on

DOF in this image because of the moving train. Capturing this image

was strictly a reflex action. The throng, attracted by the train,

depicts life in Juliaca and shows how the train drives the local
