Nice shot, Chuck. I really like how all the elements came together here. She looks perfectly composed and comfortable on the bench. Good soft tones, too.

My close-up upload of your image is not a cropping suggestion but for talking about  the light pattern on her face.  The bright bodice and the color of the bench compete for initial attention, but her pose, the S-curve of her arms, even her curls point to her face and are positive elements.  It appears that the sun, or a fairly small light source was used that mimics the 11am summer sun lights the composition (the sharp highlight/ shadow transfer edge on her face indicates this).  The shadow from her nose continues on below her lower lip to her chin. Catch-lights in her eyes are almost non-existent.  Shadows from her eyebrows and eyelashes appear to cast shadows (although some ladies do use eye shadow).  It is good to be happy with your progress to the extent that you see it as one of many stepping stones.  For the next stepping stone I would suggest having your main light at a 45 degree angle to her face and tip or lower her face so that the nose shadow falls above her upper lip and off to the side.  This also will give you light in the eyes with  small specular catchlights.  This may look unnatural because if she is not squinting everyone knows you used a portable flash as the main light.  Open shade lighting is not as dramatic but offers more ways to flatter your subject.  I hope this helps.  Good luck.
