Found a lone Coprinus by itself in some mulch, before if becomes a

mass of black slime. Was drawn in by the texture of the cap. Comments

welcomed.

I can see why this mushroom attracted your attention.  The cap's texture is most interesting, reminding me of tendrils of hair.  Spot on DOF helped a great deal.
