Storm was heading our way so decided to do some images in the

Kitchen with the back door open for natural light. Using my Tripod

and Remote I tried a few shots of a Gerbera Daisy from a Planter we

have in our front garden. This little yellow flower is a trailing annual

and is not much bigger than a nickel. I was drawn to the bold

cheerful colours on this very dreary day.(your visits have been

especially appreciated while I recuperate from my broken shoulder. I

have not been able to be online as much, but am finding that my

typing is a bit easier today. Best Always, Gail)

Your thoughts on any of my images are always appreciated Greg. After all, it was your encouragement that led me to posting here on PN. I have you to thank for what has become a very meaningful part of my life and for the many new friends I have met here. I hope you have been enjoying summer and imagine you are at the 'Estate' by now!!!

Wishing you the best always, Gail

A beautiful blend of color, light and shadow Gail. So rich in detail throughout the image, and the moisture a great finishing touch. This photo really has it all. Beautiful work my friend.

Warm Regards,

Holger

Hi Gail. I think you had a fantastic idea: Use frame for this beautiful flower, another flower that contrasts nicely with the colors. I also like the textures here, the square format, centered composition, the play of light and shadows and strong contrast. A very beautiful image!
I hope you recover soon!

Warm Regards,

Rosario.

Gail,  You continue to be quite the artist. The composition, sharpness, and vibrance of this image is wonderful.  It looks like the yellow flower is in the middle of a larger red one, eh?  Sorry to hear about your shoulder, but I'm glad to hear you are on the mend.  Larry

What a striking impact this has!  Beautiful!  I love your idea.  At photo school this summer one of my teachers was an extraordinary flower photographer (among other subjects), and he shot most of his flowers just like you did.....in the kitchen with natural light.
