I just started a midevil section in my portfolio, we have a lot of re-enactors in my town. So I was contiplating on how I should present these images, since photography was not invented back then.

My decistion was to place a paint layer on them, I have had some sucess but I like your black and white rendering, it gives not only a vintage feel but a gritty tone to it, well done

Many thanks on your comment - well, decision how to render these kind of pictures is individual. I have nothing against a color but for me it works better in black and white (with a slight sepia tone). I saw your efforts and a few of the pictures in your American Civil War are simply excellent but on some other pictures you use the PS photo effect and I'm not so happy with a result. Anyway it's on every individual to decide how he see the distant past - BW or in colors.

Also, there were no photographers at that time but they had a few very good painters which gave us a very precise insight of their life...
