Large View is preferred. The Andean Explorer is a first class all day train

experience between Puno and Cusco, Peru. The train traverses high

desert, the Andes mountains, and finally makes its way into the greener

Cusco area which has many trees. Great food, music, dancing, and a

fashion show are offered along the way. My orginal image pops more than

this one - the grass is a brighter yellow. I settled for thiis in an effort to

remedy the upload color problems I am having. I hope you enjoy the image.

It was taken hand held from the moving train. Thanks for sharing our

travels. Your comments are appreciated. Larry

Larry, clearly you are telling a story here and the train and the woman are part of the story.  So, from that perspective, well done!  Having said that though, I also believe that this grand vista invites a tight crop on the left side removing said train and female; the eye then naturally traverses the sinuous channel past the house and into the valley and out through the gap in the mountain ranges.  Either way, it is a wonderful image; but certainly two very different images.  A truly magnificent landscape!  Cheers!  Chris

Chris,  Thanks for your visit and helpful comment.  I will duplicate the image and try the crop you mention.  Yes, I agree that our images invite different views and interpretations.  Ansel Adams said that there are at least two people in every image - the photographer and the viewer.   Thanks for weighing in for me.  Larry

Hi Larry.  I really enjoy the series of images of Peru, and hope to see more. It is a good picture, I like the yellow bunch grass, (we call it ichu), the mountains in the distance, and the beautiful skies of the Peruvian highlands.

Regards,

Rosario.

Chris,  Thanks for your view on the crop here too.  I was fortunate to get this good a landscape out of a hand held shot.  I will toy around with this. I agree with you about each of these ideas creating a different image.  It's great when more than one image can be visioned out of a single shot.  Thanks. Larry

Rosario,  Thanks for weighing in on this image as well.  It is great to learn about ichu.   The grass is much yellower in my oringinal image, but dulled out in the upload to PN.  I have enjoyed looking at your images as well.  Los aves en la play hacen paisajes magnificos.   My Spanish is pretty weak, but i try.  Larry

Sumptuous landscape and the train rolls through. Must have been a feast for the eyes.
