Again, this image must be viewed in larger mode to get the correct

colors. The island of Taquile on Lake Titicaca, Peru is a true Quechua

community with all of its reseidents linving in the traditions of their

Quechua ancestors. Their simple lives involve hard work based on

having skilled expertise. The people are physically fit, need no

memberships in health clubs. I admire their command of traditional

technology that in many ways is advanced over that of our modern

lives. Make no mistake, they have iInternet connectivity and use it as

we do. I would appreciate advice on how to fix this color upload

problems I am having. I assigned the image an sRGB profile and still

have this annoying problem. Thanks for your comments and advice.

I am having color problems with photo.net also.  I have not received a solution.  Your description of the lives of these people is fascinating.  Thanks for sharing.  And if you get an answer to the color issue, please let me know too.

Lynne,  Thanks for viewing this image.  I posted the color upload question on a forum, but am not satisfied that I have an answer.  I'll let you know if I solve the problem. The uploads used to work, so I am thinking it could be an administrative issue with PN.   Thanks for the visit.  Larry

A very complex treatment of a "simple" subject: a door and a roof. This is a great example of how truly special can be captured with such force, transforming a relatively common sight into a perplexing story. Every crack of this image carries a speck of history. The lighting is so magnificently achieved that makes the observer wonder what mystery lies inside. As for color, I find it very pleasing. The play of textures of the roof and the broken stones at the bottom puts a golden seal to this superb composition.

Daniel,  What you say about this image is true.  We heard the story told by the cracks  from Quechua residents of Isla Taquile who demonstrated their traditional life style.  This doorway is actually in a small courtyard where residents are seen weaving or making shampoo out of coca leaves. Although a dwelling like this looks shabby, the people are immaculately clean and dressed in rather elaborate traditional clothes.  Thanks for you astute comments.   Larry
