The salt waters in Lake Enriquillo in the western DR began inexplicably rising

about 10 years ago killing off vegetation on its former shoreline and islands. If it

continues to rise, it will eventually become joined with another salt lake in SE

Haiti.

This does not look real. I keep staring at the petrified tree trunks thinking that they look like industrial smoke stacks. Perhaps another side effect of what we have done to our Earth. This photo leaves me wanting more information about this place and what has happened here.
