Thanks Mark! That makes two of us :-) - I had to fly all the way from California to Maine to shoot them, taken last Wednesday (rained on Thursday & Friday) in foggy condition.

Grazie Mille Giangiorgio! Only in Ireland, Scottland, England and Iceland (and the state of Maine in the US) that they are present from what I understand. May be Norway also.  I had to go to a remote island (as a bird sanctuary) in the state of Maine, US to see these. They are not shorebird and even the locals in Maine don't ever see them often either (or never seen them).

That now makes three of us ! Love those birds too , i could spend hours watching them fly and land... clumsily i'd say , nice looking guys caught in formation Tim , it's as though they appear to fly effortless in here, good focus , very well done , greetings

Thanks Carol! It's foggy last Wednesday at Seal Island, Maine and I was on the rocking boat waiting to be taken back to land when these two flew by close enough for me to catch them. Visibility was at most 30 feet that day ,  I believe.
