Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted June 8, 2014 Very nicely done Stephanie, great reflection that borders on an abstract or collage image, great, great subject matter and the conversion to black and white is well done. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted June 8, 2014 Another strong picture with excellent tones. Reflections can be hit or miss as sometimes backgroud reality falls in just the wrong place and there's a stop sign or something right in the middle of someone's head. But you managed this one very well, especially the woman, and the picture has real impact. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted June 11, 2014 Serendipitously piggy-backing on what Jack said, when I opened the thumbnail and before I read Jack's comment, I was only aware of the woman's bright head and it seemed like she was bodyless and surrealistically walking by on the other side of the fence. When opening it, it maintained that surrealistic quality though I wonder if it would be stronger without the other reflection, as if she were just floating into the scene rather than having a scene of her own also being a part of the photo. Anyway, just a thought. It maintains its feeling of reality even though we're seeing so much reflected and that helps give it the sense of surrealism to me, because the reality is so present and she seems to intrude on it and almost defy it. Then we notice the other double-images and visual non-sequiturs almost as subplots or afterthoughts. I am so drawn to her and her expression and the way she seems to depend on the fence. Her intensity of look also helps take this to a level of depth not always reached by more superficial reflection photos. Link to comment
stephanie_c1 1 Posted June 12, 2014 thanks Tony, Neb0jsa,Jack,Svetlana, and Fred...i was thinking about what you wrote Fred and when i saw it i saw her as ghostlike as well as if she were suspended in midair without any groundings. Link to comment
