Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 30, 2014 Everyone seems wrong about this picture. You've composed it so that you've cut off his foot. The man in the rear is nearly covered up by the guy in front of him. And yet, with all that, this picture has real impact and the tones are superb. The man with the white shirt is perfectly captured, a striking figure even with the missing toe. I find it a fascinating photo. I guess if a picture succeeds against all the rules, we'll just have to come up with some different rules. Link to comment
cegeiss 6 Posted May 30, 2014 Well, life doesn't always play by the rules, right? So why force an image of life into a set of (rather arbitrary) rules... ;-)I like it!I enjoy the grittiness, the nice contrast and structure in the white shirt, the overall tonality. And I like the "back-alley messiness" of it: the jumble of electrical wires, the stuff leaning against the wall, the dirty door ... Well captured! Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted May 31, 2014 All my life I have been attracted to people of dark skin, my cousin's wife has a sister who married a man similar to the one in your image and their children are dark. When they participate in family events, the ones that never seen them ask because their mother is white. Many black Cuban man married Russian and German white women and they live in Miami now.....I have work with many blacks as co-workers and clients because I been told that I had many previous lives with black skin! and on I go.....Great impacting image with the mystery of not seen his face.
