pnital 36 Posted May 29, 2014 I'm still smiling...;-)) the "divorce" is very well seem, and your title has personified the scene..Timing..timing... Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 29, 2014 I heard a loud commotion first and when I investigated this scene was before me. Apparently the distant geese got a bit too close to the nesting geese in the foreground. from the loud honking going on there was no doubt that the retreating geese were unwelcome. A short burst at 4 fps enabled me to capture the extended tongue in one shot. (means it's really pissed) :-) Luck is good! Thanks for your most welcome visit & impressions. Best, LM. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 30, 2014 All the way to Alabama? Must have been louder than I thought! But they WERE mad. :-) Thanks for taking the time. Best, LM. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted May 30, 2014 Years ago it was a very rare event to see Canadian Geese here, but now we have thousands that have found it counter-productive to migrate and instead just stay here year round. Beautiful birds but they sure make a mess on docks ;-)... Mike Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 30, 2014 Thanks for the explanation I like this shot, and I cannot stop smiling ,as you realy were on time for a very rare moment, that is speaking with no words..;-)) and btw..http://photo.net/photo-of-the-week-discussion-forum/00cbnZ Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 31, 2014 Blame Al Gore & his 'Global Warming'. If it wasn't for him & his ilk you wouldn't have to watch where you were stepping. Your geese would migrate. It's all his fault. :-) The close by town of Midland, Ontario used to have a by-law forbidding anyone from feeding these geese because they were such a problem in the town. Not sure if it's still in effect. If you'd like more geese we have lots. Best, LM. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 31, 2014 As I've said many times before, 'Luck is good' ! But then of course, you have to BE there too. :-) Thanks for the follow-up. It's always a pleasure to share photographic experiences with other like minded people. Best, LM. Link to comment

hstelljes 41 Posted May 31, 2014 Very interesting Len, having read the above entries, even though it may seem a little funny at first it's quite serious for these guys. It looks as though the one goose in the back is honking back, maybe he's sorry for the intrusion. :-) You're right about luck and Pnina is right about timing.Best Always,Holger Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 31, 2014 Yah, these guys took it very seriously. I once came across a dispute of a similar nature involving a Trumpeter Swan and a Canada Goose. The goose retreated like he was on a rocket sled with the swan, about four times it's size, nipping at his tail feathers in hot pursuit. The swans had (9) day-old cygnets to care for. Fun to watch. :-) Thanks for your participation. Best, LM. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 31, 2014 I'm not sure why. Perhaps I misunderstand the translation. These guys were definitely not in love with each other and 'working at it' was not an option. :-) Always interesting to get your take on my images in any case. Best, LM. Link to comment
jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted June 9, 2014 I facilitate Anger Mg classes for the Court System in Miami and I alwas explaning how wonderful Anger is!!! If use appropiately, with the right subject, right time and and right intentions! Usually works, but make sure you never express your anger at the police in Miami, ususally they take you in! That is the case with most of my students. Here the parents apear to have been successful at getting their way! Great image my friend. Warm regards. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted June 9, 2014 You are right. Not exactly road rage here! The anger here is paternal or maternal, for the protection of their young. If this is the only time they get angry I doubt they would be considered candidates for your class. :-) Thanks for taking the time. Best, LM. Link to comment
kathyb 37 Posted June 17, 2014 Very sharp, well composed and the tongue sticking out is a definite bonus! Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted June 17, 2014 The extended tongue was what differentiated this one from a few others in the series & is the reason I chose this one for posting. You know they're angry when you get this, especially in combination with the extended neck. Next step is a beating around the ears with those big wings. And the beak, don't forget the beak. :-) Thanks for taking the time. Best, LM. Link to comment
