Wonderful pine tree forest. Like the black and white, the texture of the trees. Its is a very elegant image. You need to look at the larger image to fully  appreciate this image. Thank you for sharing this.

Wonderful photo and a nice take on the subject. I think the low contrast look works well for this type of scene which helps it hold together as complete scene and leaves no particular element to dominate that scene. I agree that texture plays a very important role here but the starkness of the two trees in the foreground means that the composition is also significant, while not in any way overwhelming. It has a particular FEEL to it that so many landscape shots lack. It's not just a representation of what you SAW. It provides a sense of what there IS.

Indeed, the large version has more 'presence' - PN has some limits when it comes to presenting photos.
