The city sits in a bowl surrounded by the high mountains of the altiplano. As it

grew, the city of La Paz climbed the hills, resulting in varying elevations from

3,200 to 4,100 m (10,500 to 13,500 ft).(Wikipedia)

Typically, the higher you go, the lower the rent because of minimal public

transportation.

From the thumbnail I initially thought I was looking at a close up of the bottom of a gravelly creek. Opening the picture was a real surprise. I suspect looking at this very detailed picture of urban La Paz is a lot more enjoyable than living there.

Lovely urban mosaic. As you note, transportation is a challenge here but also all the other services notably water and sewage on those steep slopes.Excellent image!

Meilleures salutations-Laurent

This is an excellent picture, Jim. It amazes me the amount of detail here,  This scenario is similar to what we see in some areas in Lima, Here we call them "Pueblos Jóvenes" (slums).

Regards,

Rosario.
