LenMarriott 9 Posted May 26, 2014 Geeze Mike, let me hit the 'Enter' key first! :-) Boy, that was a fast response. Yes, the white mouse might give a clue that this wasn't captured in the wild like a REAL nature photographer would do. :-) Whatever, I was pleased with the result. Best, LM. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 26, 2014 I like this shot a lot. It relies on a tight composition for its power rather than just giving us the usual image of a bird in its environment. Because of the distinctive features of the owl, the result is quite impressive. I have to say, I almost missed the mouse. Link to comment
Vlado 0 Posted May 26, 2014 Len, amazing shot! Contrast and toning is top notch as well as your composition. Where did you shoot it, Wye Marsh? Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 27, 2014 Good of you to take the time. These back & forths are much appreciated. This shot is indeed a crop, and I thought this tight crop included all the essentials to tell the story. I wouldn't want to be a mouse looking into those eyes of death, though the face looks tame to us. Best, LM. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted May 27, 2014 Yes, the Wye Marsh. They have a 'Birds of Prey' demo there every Sunday at 1 PM. Worth the drive from Toronto in my opinion. The wildlife at the marsh provide great photo opportunities on their own. I try to get up there once or twice a year, especially with one or more of my grandchildren. Thanks for your visit. Best, LM. LenMarriott 9 Posted July 10, 2014 Good of you to weigh in on this, a favourite of a series taken at a 'Birds of Prey' demo near Midland, Ont. The soft pallet fits perfectly with the appearance of this barn owl. Best, LM. Link to comment
