Thanks for viewing/comments! .. In previous years, I normally aim at the

mother while she sit on the chicks and wait till she stand up to show the

chicks huddle together but this year I am after the image that she would

stand up suddenly when some other bird get too close and shows chaos .. I

think it present a different, more dynamic type of image ...

For some reason this image amuses me. (I am easily amused.) Yes! I like it a lot... an awful lot. Thank goodness there are people like you out there. I just wouldn't have the patience.

I agree "funny" and "beautiful". How long did you wait to make this one Tm ?

Thank you Folks! the wait is not too long since the chicks are newly hatch and they huddle often and the mother would spring up when some bird get close. The trick is to wait till she make certain sound as to warn the intruder and at some point (when the intruder is too close, in this case it's a fly catchter) she would spring up to attack the intruder. The tough part (which seems like ever) is laying flat one the ground holding the  setup of camera, extender, lens, flash & better beamer while aiming and keep the focus since the moment this happen is very brief.  It did take me about an hour total and got quite dirty ... . It's worth it and once you experience the low angle it's hard to shoot at higher angle.

Fantastic!  As always, perfect timing, detail and DOF.  I like Mom's very elegant running style and two of the chicks look confused with the other sounding an alarm.  Good stuff... Mike

This image taken from ground level is really fantastic ,only those who practice nature photography in the field understand how much work there is behind a successful photo, but the satisfaction repays the effort and dirty clothes, ciao Giangiorgio

Thanks Mr. Mancil!

Grazie Mille Giangiorgio! I  had a plastic tarp on the mud so I can lay on top but in the end my shoes got at least a foot deep in the mud and I could not get them out. So, aside from muddy hands and some on the shirt, I lost a pair of shoes and my cheap plastic tarp.  I ended up walk back to the car in my muddy socks and put two plactic bags around them to drive home .. wash a bit outside the house and head straight for the shower.  :-)

Thanks S/ Alireza!
