Wow! Beautiful lake, one of the best photos you posted lately, for my taste.

It is indeed a nice composition. I like the branches on the left foreground as well as the shore on the right. Not to persuade you to the Dark Side but (I'm a sucker for color) I would boost the saturation a little. Maybe 10 percent or so. The PhotoNet upload process seems to rob a lot of fine photographs of many of their best attributes. Regards.

Nice composition here. Can agree with Walter as well about saturation just a bit. However, I do believe that a polarizor may have taken care of that issue had you used one. I see a fair amount of glare in the water (which does nor really hurt this in my opinion) but nevertheless using one would have given this a little extra punch. Still a very nice image!

Very nice image, Lou Ann. I agree with Walter that you might play around a bit with saturation in PS. I also agree that the PN JPEG compression is brutal in how it treats many images.

Ok Lou Ann...let's get to it!I see you are comming along nicely with your photographic skills and you had a good eye for the composition here.

I see YOU DID USE A POLARIZER but I am wondering if it was adjusted right or if you were at the proper angle to the sun to maximize polarization.

I like the way you used the branches to anchor the left side of the image.I also think the right side leads the eye into the mountain range smoothly.

I see two flaws that hurt this image, the first being contrast. The left side mountain has lost all of its detail due to too much contrast and I am going to assume that your emulsion is not capable of holding minute detail.

The other flaw, and this could also effect contrast,is the fact that you do not have superior light. What time of day did you shoot this Lou Ann?

Do you notice the blue tint that your image has too it?A mild warming filter would have removed this and gave you more subtle tonal ranges.Shooting around large bodies of water during non magic hour times when the sun is behind a cloud or very early morning (pre sunrise)will cause this blue tint.Shooting during a warmer color temp such as magic hour will lesson this effect.

I only brought out these issues Lou Ann so that you may ponder them awhile, you really have done well here!

Well done, Lou Ann, excellent capture, agree with others. One of your best. A couple of suggestions, i)agree with Thomas about blue tint, you may try to remove it in PS (and also saturate green);ii) my subjective opinion is that off-centered horizon line (e.g. cropping off the top)would be better. Nevertheless, really nice.

One of your best shots here!

You need to adjust polarization to get more contrast in the clouds.

I like the horizon in center. In this case, I like. The reflections are nice too.
