I've starting to look for "still functioning" pay phones in the middle of

nowhere. Not many left. Click for a larger view. Comments

appreciated.

There's a wonderful brightness and tone to this picture despite the run down and overgrown appearance of this corner of the building. I might even call it cheerful in some odd way.

Hi, Paul! I like the shot: preserves history somehow. Nice composition and textures. Best regards, Tamara

Jack I think it has a bit of a happy feeling to it, because I am HAPPY whenever I stumble across one of these working phones. I should start calling friends whenever I find one. I think the whole mood would change in B&W though.

Tamara It's always good when someone else sees what I'm seeing.

Stephanie Really !? You stopped and photographed the same booth? That is so cool. The place has a name, but its only on the map I left in the car (still in my jammies so it will have to wait), but it is near Baker, NV and just down the road from Great Basin National Park.

Really nice.  It really has an impact and I like the composition.  I would really like to see what a B&W version would look like.  Congratulations, Phil

Thanks Phil. I almost always get the image the way I like it in color and then have a look in B&W. In the past I usually ended in B&W, but more frequently lately I am staying with color. Must be getting better at color manipulation.

This is really a wonderful image. The detail, colour and the leading lines really draw the viewer inside and for me I end up stepping into the phone booth. Best wishes.

What a wonderful find! So much to look at, take in, and imagine all the phone conversations that used to take place in that booth. I especially like the sign in the window, like we really need a sign to tell us this place is closed! I love this in color. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :)
