I guess they figure they have to bar the top window (cat burglar descending from the roof) and the bottom one ( easy intruder access) but the middle window is safe without the encumbrance of an iron mask. Hmmm....little do they know... Oh, and as for the picture, love the sun-drenched color.

Pierre- I am glad you enjoy the photo.

Jack – When I made the shot I did not notice the nr 1 like marking on the wall – but later found out that those were windows planned or about to be conserved…However, this building is special in many ways as it is the passage to the secret Carmelite nun monastery in the Alhambra area. As you can quess there were many reasons to guard this building, so that not just any ”passing Romeo” would jump through the window:) In fact the only window which might serve the purpose could be the one which is in covered by the bushes – in the first floor:)
