Thanks Bill! For 3 weeks (weekend) now I've been waiting for them to skim but they won't do it . There must be at least 100 of them and they only skim briefly (mostly far away) and I had thought I know when they would do it (generally low tide or slack time) but .... so far not much luck.

Merci Beaucoup Pierre!  The thing about shooting Skimmer is that I have to do it in the early morning since the water is calm mostly in the morning. There's always a breeze in the afternoon and that make the water surface ripples (no reflection).

Thanks J!

Thanks Rosario! Thanks for the kind words  .. it sorts of a lucky shot  .. I was shooting an American Avocet bathing and this Skimmer came in the view finder and I switch subject to shoot this Skimmer instead. No time for thinking of setting, focus option but it came out well . Mostly because I was already at a position to get good lighting (behind my back). Most important thing about Skimmer image is the eye (got to have catchlighted eye) and reflection is next since it really enhance the image. Third is probably a catch .. fish in the beak.  :-)
