mbh 0 Posted May 9, 2014 Perfect shutter speed for a dance named, "Run," I believe. Beautiful soft colors, it looks like blue mist at the dancer's feet. Bravo! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 14, 2014 A lovely semi-abstract. Very warm and welcoming colors, creating a soft, mellow mood. It's a harmonious photo and the amount of motion seems to suit the colors and dim light. We get just enough of the body and face for it to be recognizable, yet it's abstract enough to have a more spiritual side as well. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 16, 2014 Mario, thanks again. Mark, she run on the stage so fast, that it was even hard to follw her, I have some others.,but this one was the best... Jim, thanks as well. Fred, thanks for your nice detailed impression, which is always a pleasure to read. Your feeling about a spiritual sens of motion is what I have thought of myself. Thanks again. To all of you,if you see it enlarged, the red headscarfe which she was holding in her hand shows more of her running movement.. Link to comment
joaodebarros 1 Posted June 6, 2014 Beautiful "bird" trying to fly...I like also the colours Pnina! Best regards. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted June 8, 2014 My pick of your three most recent posts notwithstanding your POW. (another congratulations on that one) I love the sense of motion here and the fact you can still recognize your subject as being human. The contrasting warm\cool colours also make this one a stand out. I'm not sure of your artistic intent but had this been my presentation I think, rightly or wrongly, I would have cropped out part of the RHS to place the subject off-center and thereby having her running into the scene rather than out of it. One advantage of 'loose' compositions is that they give you many crop (or no crop) options, especially with these newer high megapixel cameras. The downside of course is that they could also encourage sloppy compositions. This one could also have been appropriately titled simply "Run" Looking forward to more of your newer works. Best, LM. Guest Guest Posted June 8, 2014 Can you say why you would prefer a sense of the dancer running into the frame rather than out of it? In this instance, either way, running in or running out, works well for me, though obviously differently. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted June 8, 2014 Sure. To avoid unintended tension. In most cases I prefer to have room ahead, in the direction of travel, not behind. I also like centered subjects that are moving directly toward or away from the camera. But that's just me. Others' artistic leanings may dictate otherwise. Hard & fast 'rules' are a trap best avoided. Thanks for encouraging me to think about that. Best, LM. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 8, 2014 Thanks both of you.Len ,the dancer's movement with the red scarf is a round one, look at the RHS...;-))and the larger version. Fred,I think that you have seen it ,or even felt it.Len,I always appreciate the viewer's point of his expression, even if I think differently. This time Fred was my help. But thanks again both of you ,for taking the time! Link to comment
