I do agree that it looks like some sort of space-related hardware....

BUT, is it?  This does appear to be a macro shot, so, let the guessing begin.

Thanks God all mighty you came at last, dude!

It is a close up, but it still doesn't mean that isn't a spacecraft, they may be micro, ha!

Cheers dude

It doesn't matter what it is really , it's a technically perfect shot .The blacks rendered well , pin sharp showing the texture , exposure and focus spot on . Excellent ! Bill

Bill,

You are a viewer of great visual culture, all you said is the reason why I treated this accidentally taken close up as a work of art!

Cheers to that

"It's the Lens Hood to my "fancy lens" you're always giving me a hard time about!"

"No wonder I can't get any shots that will even make the "Average" grade here!"

Cheers dear friend!

Nope, no lens hood, Jim!

Torch, pocket torch, lamp, flashlight...there are many names for it! It is the head shown on the picture!

Thanks for dropping by and don't worry for my envious comments about your fancy equipment!

Cheers, dude!

You disclosed it too soon Pierre although I would have not guessed it.  Great clarity on the close up.  AJ

Hey Timothy!

I am glad you like this one, my dear friend! As a matter of fact you should because you are doing something similar from time to time, I mean couple of interesting elements well arranged!

Cheers to that

Is it my style, mi querido amigo?

I wouldn't say so, this is my only abstract which has only passed cleaning in Photoshop and nothing else!

But when you say so it must be so, muchas gracias!

Saludos cordiales

This is the business end of a Buck Rogers blaster.  The bumps on the left are magnetic blast focusers   And those protrusions on the right are flash eliminators.  Got ya this time!  :-)  Best, LM.

Got me indeed, Len!

I surrender!

I thought it was a matter of greatest secrecy so that even I didn't know what it was, but you broke directly into to substance of the secret!

I congratulate you, master!

Pierre, it's very mysterious how you blended the light...on one hand, it looks like a rocket ship, on the other, a totemic mask...the texture could make it either but there's so much else to consider...you are the thought provocateur...regards....David

Hey, David!

I lit it with macro lite ring flash from one side only, that's how I got the special lighting and the effects of it!

Thanks for your visit!
