Too many names on too many walls . . .  Yet, the world still hasn't learned.

You have provided a powerful reminder.  I am most grateful.

There seems to be an eternal white flame on the wall, its swirling gesture memorializing the ever-remembered dead. Thanks.

Thank you for being here with me. Every year at that day, I remember and think of the wide  familly of human being and especially the children...there was a film which is called: A collecting point, that realy shows the horors and in the middle of all this  a human  souls  that have extended a  merciful hand to help.

A very touching tribute, Pnina. Thank you for sharing.

(ps: have you seen the use of the 'ikpod'  (used in JHM.nl )  -- a very worthwhile, new & ongoing project which makes it possible to read information about the individual person, behind the name...)

It is for me more than a memorialization of those particular individuals. It is as much a testament of man's destructive capabilities and ruthless savagery as it is a memorial. And, I fear no amount of canonization of the martyrs will change the path of the species. Dark? You betcha. But the evidence mounts with every passing year.

I see that Rita Ivona was only 14 years old.  Yes, it is good to keep material like this in front of us.  Diminishing memory is a human way of coping with tragedy and there are fewer of us every day who actually lived through these times.  Thus it is only natural, unless reminded often, that people slowly forget.  Hard for the newer generations to remember something they didn't personally experience.  David is right, the potential for a repetition is still with us.  You do fine work.  (photography as a tool)  Best, LM.

Both of you are right, it is important to remind people about this tragedy of genoside !

When you read at the newspaper, and see on TV, what is going on in our neighboring country ,and in the African continent, let alon Iran's planes, and so many other ones around the glob...

It is an   imperative and a mission for so many innocent victimes, to remember! and upload a reminder. If it will help some to take a moment and think... that it was the Jews this time ,and can  be everyone of them in the future....

Today is the independence day,and a few days ago it was the Holocauste MEMORY DAY.

Some members of my family were lost in those camps . Two brothers of my father lost their families ,and some how survived ,and  we know ( only in part, as it was even hard for them to tell) of their "visit" to hell.

Thank  both of you !

One day politicians will probably learn to respect and accept other people, their faith and their way of life ...let's pray that they will. We must never forget the lessons from history and the Holocaust is a prime example serving as a reminder of that....

How right you are ,but I think it will  still takes time if ever.

When we see the genoside in Syria.. well, it is our  mission to remind people.

Thanks for your thinking as you wrote me., We are the torsh  for the world.

Thanks for the link.  This humanitarian effort will likely have more effect in bringing about peace than the rattling of a thousand sabres.  The New Testament story of the Good Samaritan comes to mind.  Good for you (Israelis) for showing the world how it should be done!  Best, LM.
