I really like the idea but perhaps a little less cropping may have allowed the viewer to experience it in its full glory.

I thought about it. I really wanted to focus on her face. So I originally cropped severely on the vertical, which left me with a panoramic-type shot. I cropped that for Photo.net. Perhaps I shouldn't have.

I particularly enjoy the closeness and attention to her face, provided well by the hanging wet hair, the uplight from the water surface...  

her arms, hair and the water line all provide a nice triangle  that keeps us engaged with the portrait...    the wide open original leaves us with too much area in which to wander around...

Just my opinion of course!
