These boats were lowered in the water after the ice sheet was broken

and then followed the icebreaker in the confines of the wharf to moor

at their designated spot to start rigging up for the season

opener.Thank you for your comment-Laurent

Laurent, a very nice image with great colors. My preference would be to show less of the concrete rail (?) and more of the ships in the background by using a longer focal length to show more of them and less of the buildings on the left, as well as some more elevation-but I wasn't there and you might have already been hanging over the edge of the dock.  The crazy world of PN; I'm looking at pictures of ice while our temperatures hit 90 deg.with hot, dry winds today, and all kinds of concerns about wildfires.  Congratulations, Phil

Thank you for looking in and for the observation. What you suggest,I have in other shots but here I composed it with the fresh gear on the deck as the subject with the other boats in the ice acting as background;the front part was framed to get all of that anchor block and in doing so,I had to include the curb and part of that shed which I had to straighten out as  the WA had really pulled it(easier than to clone out). Here, the tide was not totally up so the boats were still down some, but if the rain stops,I will have other shots as more boats are put in the water and as they get loaded with all the colorful gear.Indeed,a funny world we live in;there is so much ice this year that at some of our local wharfs, the ice-breaker could not  fracture the ice sheet as it did here and therefore the boats cannot be put in the water and the fishing season which was to open today is now tentatively set for May 8th.....if the ice conditions allow.Hope you are spared wildfires....no fun either.

Meilleures salutations-Laurent
