huckcarrollphotography 0 Posted April 24, 2014 The portrait of the little girl is marvelous. I love the muted color, it works well. It is the boy's mouth that gives me problems. His lips appear far too red and dark, almost clownish. It is like he discovered his mother's lipstick and decided to try it. Perhaps that is why the little girl seems to be pouting. Their mother came into the room and took away the lipstick before the little girl got her chance to try it. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 264 Posted April 24, 2014 It is obvious that long lens was used! Not exactly a portrait, maybe life photo would suit better! However, very cute spectacle! Best regards, Line! PDE Link to comment
LineMartel 6,260 Posted April 24, 2014 It is indeed a street shot with a long focal lens. The boy was eating a Popsicle thus the red lips... But I like Walter's story much better! Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted April 24, 2014 This picture has a slightly eerie feeling about it. It reminds me of the stories of people taking photographs of a person and when the negatives were developed there was an eerie presence or ghostly disembodied face hovering in the background. Part of this is due, I think, to the very distinctive difference in tone and coloring between the two children. The "popsicle red" lips of the boy are almost gruesome contrasted with the paleness of the girl's skin. Link to comment
