Happy 13th my Sweet Girl. It is not everyday that your Grandaughter

turns 13. Hard to believe you are now a Teenager, at least beginning

those years. I am very proud of the fine young lady you are

becoming. I hope you have a Great Day!! I'll call you when you get

home from school!!! Love, Gran XOXO (my Daughter emailed me

late Tues. night asking if I had a copy of a photo my Dad did of

Shaelyn when she was just 4.5 mos. old. I did not have a file on my

computer, so I had to take an image of it. Dad had done a

Watercolour type of effect on it, the paper was a bit discoloured,

showing signs of age (I did not have it under glass). I had to clean it

up and try to get rid of some halos from processing. It took quite a bit

of work, but while it is soft, I still think Shaelyn will enjoy it for her

Birthday, she has always loved the Photo. Her Great Grandfather is

very special to her. I have printed it and it turned out quite nice. I will

have to see if Dad can remember where the original is. It will be a

Family Keepsake if he still has it. (visits and thoughts shared are

always appreciated, thanks :) Gail)

I know the feeling Gail. Sometimes i think that a photoshop's brush is the extension of my own hand when i deal with photos of my children.

Happy, happy birthday to her!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much. I will tell her about you when I see her on Saturday. She will see this image during the day when she has a chance. Our children, (and when you are as 'old' as me :-D), our grandchildren are precious gifts. We can only hope their lives are happy, and do what we can to help that along. This one I could not stop working on till there were no obvious lines. And in turn I learned a lot as well. I know you enjoy your children dearly from the visits I had made to your Portfolio. I appreciate your thoughts shared. She will have a Birthday with her Mom and brother today, and we will visit with my Son and his family Saturday. I am looking forward to much to seeing them. :) Gail

I think the softness adds greatly to the dreamy effect of the sleeping baby.  A lovely memory,  Gillie

A beautifully evocative image Gail, I feel like I'm holding all of my babies at once. It is hopefully a little while until I become a Grandfather but this reminds me of what a special thing that would be.

Thank you Jim. Al my daughter did was have to ask and mention it was for Shaelyn. My granddaughter deserves a lovely day. I just called and she is at the 'Mall' shopping with her friends :) so I imagine she is all grins right now!! I sure am feeling tired right now though. Only had a few hours sleep. I used to be able to survive on it, but not so much anymore. A couple years ago, I could easily stay up a good part of the night on PN, not now. :( my age is slowly showing:)

Congrats on your good news!! I can tell you are very excited, and probably will be the kind of man who will be involved very much in your grandchild's life. There are rewards, and some tears. But there can be no better friend to a child. Even Great Grandparents are important to children. Shaelyn is shy around her Great Grandfather, yet she likes to know he is near, and is always thrilled when she can be in his presence. She has a keen sense in the security of 'family'. If we can be there for them when they are young, and they know in their hearts they can trust us, it is a bond that is so rewarding. I recall the first time she nestled her head just under my chin, just like my children did. Their lovely clean scent of baby lotion after a bath....so tiny, so dependant on 'comfort'. Yes, the years go by much too quickly. Take LOTS of picutres, never thing, 'oh I will do it next time'...those moments just fly by!!

The original image that my Dad took, I kept it somewhere that I would see it all the time. It just 'soothed' me. She looked so peaceful. I do hope that as she grows that 'life will treat her kind'. What more could we want for our babies???? Thank you for those lovely words. I know when the time comes, you will make a wonderful Grandfather, Tony.

I am happy to hear that you liked this image. I hope my Dad still has the original file, I must ask him - he has taken so many images over the years that sometimes he has trouble finding them. Maybe I will be lucky!!!

Looking this photo is an only thing that I feel,is purity, innocence, and I think how good will be in this world if we can keep what we have from birth clean and bright like this angel,I have nothing to say more than this gives me a so positive feeling and good mood.Lot of health to all of you to celebrate more events from now.

I have come to know you as a sensitive soul who delights in all that is beautiful. The lovely innocence we see in the face of a young baby, and the love we fee for that child, those emotions speak - just as your words speak. I often feel the same way when I see a beautiful flower that is so perfect - without blemish,  and I marvel at it's creation. I am so happy that this image brought out such lovely emotions within. I appreciate you sharing those with me. I know that when you become a Grandparent, you will not believe the emotions you are overcome with when you hold that child in your arms. There is nothing that comes close to in in our world. Thank you for your time taken to share your thoughts with me, I always enjoy our conversations. Wishing you the very best always, Gail

Hi dear friend, this is lovely, it moves my heart making me remember those moments when I was blessed with my two daughters,  and was  a young Mom with not experience at all. I believe LIFE is a miracle, and I just see that no matter how much we have advanced in science, technology or any others aspects in this world, man has not been able to create this miracle: LIFE. Beautiful picture, Gail;  God blessings to  all of you!!!
